Bloggers like us frequently get asked a lot of silly questions. Here are some of the most common ones.
Q: Do you know your website is spelled wrong? It’s an umbilical cord - duh.
A: Yes, we’re well aware of what an umbilical cord is, but that has nothing to do with our website. It’s a pun.
Q: How did you think up your name?
A: Vivek and I were talking and spitting out random cheesy names for websites. I blurted out “umbilical chord.” It stuck.
Q: Can you write something nice about my band please?
A: If you’d like us to review your band/album/concert/whatever, send us an email with the information we’ll need to make this possible. Due to the large number of submissions we get, we may not be able to review everything that we receive.
Q: I sent you music, so why didn’t you review it!
A: Again, it’s difficult for us to get through everything that gets submitted. If you know we have listened to a sample of something you’ve sent us, keep in mind that we’re probably sparing you a bad review. We’re nice like that.
Q: I like to write and/or take pictures. If I send it to you will you use it on your website?
A: Maybe. We encourage any interested parties to email us with anything they’d like us to share with our readers. This includes photos from concerts, reviews of anything we may have missed, and/or news tips for fresh music news.
Q: Isn’t hosting free tracks illegal?
A:The MP3s we host are for sampling purposes only. We encourage all the readers out there to purchase music and support artists. If you represent an artist or band featured on this site and are uncomfortable with links to free MP3s, please send us a message and we will take the said tracks down ASAP.
The UC reserves the right to edit any submitted materials for length and content. All submissions become the property of Umbilical Chord unless otherwise noted.
