A Fine Frenzy, oh I haven’t used this many “F” sounds in a row since the Fleet Foxes review I wrote last summer. Gosh I love alliterative acts and this one is pretty too.
The thing I really enjoy about singer-songwriters is their uncanny ability to always have a beautiful sound on and off stage. Regina Spektor, for example, might sound even more lovely live than on one of her records.
A Fine Frenzy (Alison Sudol) seems to share this beautiful gift of the trade. I’ve been streaming live performances all morning and each sounds more and more like what other songstresses strive to achieve in a polished studio setting.
Sudol’s first album, released in 2007, received only moderate reviews, but I have great expectations for her follow-up album Bomb in a Birdcage - available September 8th via Virgin Records.
